Description

Choosing between the highway drone of a full Mud-Terrain and the limited traction of an All-Terrain is a compromise no off-roader wants to make. The AVIX Trailtek R/T solves this by delivering aggressive off-road capability that won't punish you on the pavement. Engineered with a hybrid, dual-purpose tread pattern and a substantial 3-ply sidewall, this Rugged-Terrain tire handles deep mud, loose gravel, and sharp rocks on the trail while remaining impressively quiet and civilized on your daily commute.

Key Features
  • True Hybrid Traction: The dual-purpose tread features ladder-step tread blocks that reduce tread movement (squirm) at highway speeds, while still providing the aggressive biting edges required to pull you through loose dirt and slick mud.
  • 3-Ply Sidewall Construction: Where standard tires stop at two, the Trailtek R/T uses three plies of reinforcement. This provides crucial puncture resistance against sharp rocks and trail debris when you air down for the weekend.
  • Built-In Stone & Mud Ejectors: Specialized ridges between the tread blocks physically push out rocks and mud as the tire rotates, ensuring your tread stays clear and your traction remains consistent in sloppy conditions.
  • Visual Wear Indicators: Take the guesswork out of tire maintenance. Built-in indicators cast directly into the tread (100%, 75%, 50%, and 25%) let you accurately check your remaining tire life at a glance.
  • Dual Sidewall Design: The tire features two distinct sidewall patterns on either side, allowing you to choose between a modern, sleek aesthetic or a more rugged, aggressive look during mounting.

Pro Tip: Upgrading to a heavier, 3-ply Rugged-Terrain tire means factory tire pressures no longer apply. For most Tacomas and Tundras running these on the street, we recommend starting around 35-40 PSI and doing a chalk test to ensure even wear. When you hit the BC Forest Service Roads, airing these down to 15-20 PSI will drastically improve ride quality and maximize the footprint for off-road grip.

    • While you can physically bolt pre-mounted wheels and tires to your truck at home, stretching bare rubber onto your rims and properly road-force balancing them is not a driveway job. Heavy, aggressive R/T tires require precise balancing to track straight, run smooth, and avoid wearing out your suspension components prematurely.
    • Save yourself the headache and contact the O2 team to book a professional mounting, balancing, and alignment session at our Surrey, BC shop.
