As the 4th Gen 4Runner ages, the factory steering rack often becomes a weak link, especially when tasked with turning 33-inch or 35-inch tires through technical terrain. Frequent failures include leaking seals and internal rack play, which are only exacerbated by the weight of armor and gear. This Toyo-Steering kit provides a shop-proven path to swap the factory unit for the much larger 2007-2021 Tundra steering rack. By moving to a full-size rack architecture, you gain the mechanical resilience needed for long-term reliability on and off the pavement.

Pro Tip: For many 4th Gen owners, the factory rack is a when, not if failure point once mileage climbs. This conversion is the standard for 120-series builds planning to run 35" tires. While the front end is disassembled, it is the ideal time to refresh your Suspension bushings and check your Recovery points to ensure your rig is fully prepared for the backcountry.

- Fitment: 2003-2009 Toyota 4Runner (4th Gen)
- The A-arm length "+x.xx" option is only for aftermarket long travel A-arms that extend track width. A 3” lift alone does not require this option. Choose stock length if you’re on factory or mid-travel arms.
- The shortened rack cannot be threaded to M24x1.5 (GX460, 2GFJ, 5G4R) alternative options for tie rods are available.
  The Tundra Outer Tie Rods have a different taper than the stock 4Runner. The stock spindle needs to be reamed out with a 1:10 taper. We can service your spindles or you can purchase a reamed spindle from us.
- Required Component: Requires a 2007-2021 Tundra Steering Rack (OEM Part #44250-0C160 or equivalent). Rack core not included.
